You may have reached this site looking for the best feedburner alternative. FeedBurner is a service from Google that allows publishers to deliver their feed content to subscribers via RSS. People in the blogging world will usually recommend using this so you can read the content of their blog either in your email, or using a program or web application of some sort.
I have been using Google feedburner for over 2 decades for various websites. Recently, I got an email of changes to the free service I have been using for so many websites. Feedburner is about to terminate the ability to send the RSS feeds via email subscription on this free product.
So, is there an alternative?
Introducing follow.it – best feedburner alternative
One of the most promising tools that’s making a big name in the blogging world is the free tool called “follow.it”. It offers you powerful features to power up your feed in different ways. The best part is it is not limited to just subscribing to an RSS feed. You can set-up filters and control the what you see from the RSS Feed.
RSS is a web technology that means “really simple syndication”. In simple terms, that just means it’s a technology that lets different programs latch onto your website (blog) and grab your content. We know we love digging a website or blog when we find valuable and interesting content. As a website owner or publisher, you have to provide your content more effectively to achieve that goal.
Today, if subscribers want to read, view, or watch syndicated online content, they typically have to go to where the content is hosted or know how to subscribe to the feed and consume the content within an aggregator or reader.
With this amazing tool, follow.it, when you visit any feed on any site and click on “Follow”, you’ll see all the feed subscribing options and filters.
That really means you can have a meaningful audience by giving them more customizable options to subscribe to your website or blog feed. Readers can simply choose what they want to hear from you. You’re not going to choose the content for them, they choose! follow.it has made subscriptions for the long run. Once a reader adds filters, they can simply decide how they want to receive new updates from you.
This way, they get alerted about your new articles, click on the notification, and come back to your site. The process is fully automatic compared to a regular newsletter, so you can save time and energy, and just keep focusing on producing great content. follow.it will make sure people come back. While the newsletter feature is the most heavily used aspect of follow.it, the tool can do much more.
It’s important to have a retention tool like follow.it. This tool is free to use on its basic plan. However, they have several paid plans with some advanced features. You can be looking at their pricing plans to decide which plan best suits you.
Check Out Follow. It and Let me know what you think.
Thank you for introducing me to follow it. As a newbie on online business world, I am determined to arm myself with all the tools necessary to succeed, Follow it looks like one of those tools. I appreciate the fact that it gives one an opportunity to explore the tool with the basic free version. Thank you again.
You are welcome. Best of Luck to you on your journey in to the website business world. I am sure you can see how automatic emails to your followers everytime you post to your website could be beneficial.
Thank you very much for introducing me to this interesting new platform to make it easier to be a blogger. I’ve just started the whole blogging thing, so I’m kind of in the dark about a lot of things that could potentially save me time and energy. I bookmarked your site to return to when I have time to check it out thoroughly. Do you, the blogger, need to install a plugin of some sort?
You are welcome, Rene. You don’t have to install a plugin to make the email subscription work, but you will want to add a small verification code to your theme’s header so that you can claim the feed and see the stats. If you are using the all in one seo plugin, you can add the code to the additional verification section in the settings. the platform will give you the code.
Thank you for introducing me to this alternative. I love using follow.it! Very easy to set up and I already have my other email subscribed to myself 😉 I like how it is free on the basic plan because I’m in the beginning stage of building my website and I want to spend my money very wisely.
Thanks for the feedback on follow.it. Best of luck to you on your new website. I hope you gets tons of followers and lots of traffic back to your website with this tool.
That’s a new one I have learned today. I use follow.it, but I use it only to inform my subscribers of a new article or blog. I had no idea about the RSS feed. That I am going to check out just now.
Automatic posting could be very useful to automate social media feeds. I wonder if this is possible with follow.it.
Thanks for a great tip.
Regards,
Aps
It is the RSS Feed that alerts follow.it to send an email to your subscribers. Follow.it is not a social media posting service. It is set-up to alert subscribers of new content on a site that has rss feeds ( like wordpress )
follow.it give my subscribers control, ah! How about that. Here I was wondering how i was about to add feedburmer to my blog without being sure if the premium version is worth it and I found this article. follow.it seems to be the future for me.
However since they’re new in the market I want to give feedburner the benefit of a dought and first watch the near future developments at follow.it. What do you think? better still, i might consider both. Is it possible?
The problem is that google feedburner is discontinuing the email subscription function altogether. If you want rss feed via email, feedburner is not an option going forward. Yes, they both work for now, but you have to make a choice which form you want to add to our website for them to sign up. It would not make sense to include both forms.
